Old soles get new lease of life as Vintage Kicks open store in Belfast

Ryan Noade has turned his hobby of cleaning old trainers in to a business, opening the doors to his store on the Castlereagh Road last week. Sustainability is at the heart of Vintage Kicks and Ryan is passionate about helping the environment and his community. Men, ladies and children are all catered for in the store, focusing on brand names like Nike, Adidas, Puma, New Balance and more. On average it takes Ryan 45 minutes to clean a pair of trainers, saying: “I do all the cleaning myself and try to use as little chemicals as possible.” With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, Ryan says: “The great thing about this is, is that a family of four could come to the store, if they are buying four pairs of trainers, they could save up to £200.” Also on offer at Vintage Kicks is customisation, touching up, dying and even candles, of course in the style of trainers.
