Tourism Ireland has announced former KBC Bank Ireland director of marketing, communications and corporate affairs Aidan Power as its new director of marketing.
Power will take up the contract position with the body responsible for marketing Ireland as a tourism destination at the end of February and will be based at Tourism Ireland‘s Dublin office.
He will be responsible for strategy and insights as well as driving the organisation’s marketing communications, creative and media strategy and partnerships in order to increase the value of overseas tourism to the island of Ireland.
Power will also lead the development of content to inspire potential visitors, and he will collaborate with Tourism Ireland’s international teams, as well as with tourism industry and government partners.
“I am delighted to announce the appointment of Aidan Power to this key strategic position in our organisation, following an extensive competition with a strong international response,” said Alice Mansergh, chief executive designate at Tourism Ireland.
“He brings a wealth of experience and a very strong track record of achievement to the role. He takes up this important post of Director of Marketing at an exciting time, as Tourism Ireland works to increase the value of overseas tourism to the island of Ireland, sustainably supporting economies, communities and the environment.”
In addition to KBC, Power also worked for EBS Building Society and Musgraves prior to joining Tourism Ireland.
