Mid-Michigan communities lists a variety of events and activities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
The Sanford Eagles Post #3677 is holding a Cash Bash on March 18 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event includes multiple prize events, a live band, and a dinner of Ireland dishes and drinks. Tickets are $50.
Breckenridge American Legion Post 295 will host a St. Patty’s Day Celebration on March 17 at 5 p.m. The event includes food, live entertainment, a silent auction, 50/50 drawings, $1.50 Busch Lite draft (while supplies last), and food available between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $12.
Within the Isabella County, some of the events available are:
-On March 15, PohlCat Golf Course will host a ‘SHANK Your Shamrocks’ event at 7 p.m. The event includes games on the simulators, prize opportunities, drink specials, and clothing discounts. Entry is $7 per person.
-On March 17 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., O’Kelly’s Sports Bar & Grille will host a St. Patrick’s Day Block Party. This is a 21 and up event with entry costing $10. Some of the bands performing includes Jedi Mind Trip from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Starfarm from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Gunnar & Grizzly Boys from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
-St. Patrick’s Day specials at Wood Shop Social from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. This includes an Irish breakfast burger, corned beef benedict, and corned beef hash for breakfast and an Irish Smash burger, a house brined corned beef sandwich, an Irish seafood ‘stew,’ venison shepherd’s pie, and Irish cream cheesecake as well as a variety of holiday-themed drinks.
In Clare, Irish Fetival events will be going on from March 15 to March 18. During these few days, the Kathy Rynearson Memorial Food Drive will be going on.
On Wednesday, March 15, the following events will be going on:
-A Kids Poster Contest will have submissions hanging in businesses’ windows.
-The Evening Post has green beer available.
-Irish food and drink specials will be available at the 505 Cafe from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-Buccilli’s Pizza of Clare will have reuben subs available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
-Timeout Tavern has drink specials, reubens, corned beef, and cabbage soup from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
-The Doherty Hotel has business after hours from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This includes door prizes and 50/50 drawing among other activities. A Big Brothers Big Sisters silent auction will be going on at 7 p.m.
-Four Leaf Brewing will have Irish Pub Trivia going on at 6 p.m.
Irish Festival events for March 16, Thursday, includes:
-The Evening Post has green beer available and a DJ in the evening.
-Irish food and drink specials will be available at the 505 Cafe from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-Ruckle’s Pier will have a live DJ, Irish nachos, and grasshoppers from 10:30 a.m. to closing time.
-Buccilli’s Pizza of Clare will have reuben subs available from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
-Timeout Tavern has drink specials, reubens, corned beef, and cabbage soup from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
-The Trap Door has drink specials from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
-The Clare High School cafeteria will host Irish Recipe Contest at 5:30 p.m. with prizes for the kids, adults, and business categories. The Gateway Community Band will be performing in the Clare High School gym at 7:30 p.m.
-Four Leaf Brewing has live acoustic music going on from 7 p.m. to closing time.

-Cops & Doughnuts has Irish pastries and cookies available and will be open extended hours.
-Herrick House & The Mulberry cafe will have breakfast and lunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-The Evening Post has green beer, a full menu and a DJ at 5 p.m.
-Irish food and drink specials will be available at the 505 Cafe from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-Ruckle’s Pier will have a live DJ, Irish nachos, and grasshoppers from 10:30 a.m. to closing time.

-Clare VFW has burgers, brats, hot dogs with chips for $5 and drink specials from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
-Knights of Columbus has an ‘all you can eat’ fish fry at Our Lady of Hope Church at 106 E. Wheaton Avenue from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Adults are $12, veterans/seniors are $11, kids 6-12 are $6 and kids under 5 are free.
-Fire Pits on McEwan Street will be available from 4 p.m. to midnight.
-Food Trucks will be available on McEwan Steet from 4th to 5th Street from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.
-The Venue has live music by Jedi Mind Trip from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
-Four Leaf Brewing has karaoke from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

-A 5K, 10K, and 2 mile walk road race will be going on. The 10K starts at 9 a.m., the 5K starts at 9:05 a.m., the 2 mile walk starts at 9:15 a.m., and the Kids’ Fun Run starts at 10:45 a.m.
-United Methodist Church at 105 E. 7th Street will have an ‘all you can eat’ Green Pancake Breakfast. The cost is $5 per person, $20 per family and kids 4 and under are free.
-Fire Pits on McEwan Street will be available from 8 a.m. to midnight.

-The Clare Union Railroad Depot & the Clare County Arts Council has a museum and caboose tour as well as special Irish merchandise for sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

-Ruckle’s Pier will have a live DJ, Irish nachos, and grasshoppers from 10:30 a.m. to closing time. Ruckle’s Pier also will serve as the start for the Bed Race at 10:30 a.m.
-Buccilli’s Pizza of Clare will have reuben subs available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
-The downtown area will have White Pine Pipes & Drums from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-At noon, the parade will begin at Wilcox to 3rd Street.

-From 12:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., The Venue has a DJ, shot and drink specials, and cornhole at 1 p.m.
-Four Leaf Brewing has live music from 4 p.m. to closing time.
-At 4 p.m., an ‘Are You Irish?’ contest will be going on downtown on McEwan Street between 4th and 5th Streets. Prizes will be given to the person wearing the most green, wearing the best kilt, having the greenest eyes, most freckles, and reddest natural hair.
-The Trap Door has drink specials from 5 p.m. to 12 p.m.
