LIMERICK sports clubs have been invited to apply for the Texaco Support for Sport initiative, which will see a €5,000 fund distributed to successful applicants.
Altogether, €130,000 will be divided among the 26 counties, while over the past three years, three Limerick clubs have benefited from the funding, namely Fedamore GAA Club (2021), Limerick Cricket Club, Adare (2022) and Hospital Tennis Club (2023).
Clubs who wish to apply should first register their interest on www.TexacoSupportforSport.com, with applications closing on January 31, 2024.
The fund is open to all sports clubs irrespective of sporting discipline, size, membership, age, cultural appeal or gender.
Launching the 2024 initiative, James Twohig, director of Ireland operations, described the programme as one that “provides a route to vital funding for those clubs and communities that need it most.”
