Ireland “Security Freeloading” According To A Midlands TD

Ireland is currently entering a new deal with NATO over sub-sea infrastructure protection.

Ireland have been guilty of “security freeloading” according to a midlands TD and former army ranger.

It comes as we enter into a new agreement with NATO over the protection of sub-sea infrastructure, namely fiber optic cables connecting the USA and Europe.

The Irish Defence Forces have been struggling with regard to man power, and are currently only able to operate two naval vessels at a time, when 15 years ago they could operate eight.
